Frequently asked questions

Can I come solo?
Yes.

The majority of our guests join us solo. We might be biased but Salt Escapes really are the best way to meet like-minded people with a shared love of fitness and adventure! We have options for twin share rooms if you’re keen to share with a new friend, or private double rooms if you fancy a room to yourself.
Can I pay with instalments?
Yes.

If you choose to pay just the deposit (£500 pp) at booking, we’ll be in touch shortly after to set up your instalments. You can choose how many instalments you’d like to pay, and the date you’d like these to fall on. Just remember, the full balance needs to be paid at least 3 months prior to your Escape start date.

There are no additional fees to pay by instalments and they will be automatically charged to the card you provide to us when we set the instalments up with you.

The instalments are not through a credit agency or anything similar so will not affect your credit rating at all.
I have dietary requirements - can you cater to this?
No problem.

Once you're booked onto a trip, we'll be in touch to get all of this info from you. Our chefs can always cater to any dietary requirements and will always cook up a big beautiful variety of delicious foods.
What's the age range for guests? Who goes on these fitness retreats?
The majority of our guests are in their 30s but we welcome anyone with an adventurous soul, eager to try new things and be part of the group for a week of fun in the sun.
Will I get any free time throughout the week?
Yes, of course!
We schedule plenty of downtime in our daily itinerary for you to hang with your new mates, hit the beach, head out on an adventure, or just kick back by the pool with a book.

It's also worth noting that we're fully aware it's your holiday and that for most people, holidays are few and far between. We are here to make it as epic and memorable as possible. So that means if you want to sit out of any activities for extra chill time by the pool, or you want us to organise some other activities off-site - we'd be more than happy to do this for you. Just speak to one of the teams in the lead-up, or throughout the week and we'll get it all organised for you.
How fit do I need to be? Do I need to be super fit?
No, not at all.

All our workouts are designed to be challenging but adaptable for different fitness levels and any injuries, and are programmed so that everyone can work at their own pace & ability.

That being said, having a decent base of fitness before coming on an Escape with us is a good idea - this will ensure your body is ready and prepped for a full week of workouts. This doesn't mean you need to be an athlete or a gym-bunny, just that you're aware of how to move your body, have a regular exercise routine established, and overall, that you're game to get stuck into whatever we throw at you! Give the week your best shot, that's all we ask.
What's included in the price?
The exact inclusions or exclusions for a given escape are listed on the booking page of your chosen Escape, but as a general guide here's a breakdown of what is usually included when you book an Escape:

• Luxury villa accommodation
• Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner prepared by a private chef
• Workouts
• Recovery sessions (Yoga/Pilates)
• Drinking water throughout the week
• Welcome drinks
• Welcome snacks
• Wifi at the villa
• Housekeeping
• Laundry*
• Bath towels
• Pool towels
• Toiletries

*Laundry facilities are sometimes self-service, and other times the housekeeping team will wash and return your laundry for you.
Can I come with my partner/friend?
Yes, of course!
The majority of our guests join us solo, but we usually have at least 1 or 2 couples or pairs of friends join us on each Escape. We guarantee that you definitely won't feel awkward or left out as the vibe is always inclusive and friendly.Remember, the idea of a fitness retreat doesn't appeal to everyone, so you're guaranteed that the other guests are going to be like-minded travellers!

If you're coming with your partner we always have options for private rooms (usually called Deluxe Double or Master Double rooms) with big double beds, ensuites and incredible views for you to enjoy together.

If you're coming with your friend and want to be in a shared room together (often called a Deluxe Twin room) with them, that's not a problem at all. It's best to contact us beforehand so we can confirm the availability for you to make sure we can put you guys in the same room, but if you want to just go ahead and book, this is also not a problem.It doesn't matter if you book & pay together or separately - just let us know and we can confirm the room allocation!
Are flights & transfers included in the price?
No, flights and transfers are not included. We do not sell air tickets or transfer packages. We can provide some general advice on routes, booking platforms etc should you need help figuring out how to get to a destination, but cannot book anything for you or on your behalf.
What's the cancellation policy?
The following is an excerpt from our full Terms of Service (Booking Terms). You can view them in full by clicking here.

Cancellations Policy: Guest Cancellations
It is your responsibility to read and understand our Cancellation Policy as well as our full Terms of Service before making a booking.

Naturally, no one books an Escape with the intention of cancelling or postponing, but unexpected things do happen, so you must have adequate travel cancellation insurance in place before booking your Escape.

If you need to cancel any booking, cancellation fees will apply.

Any notice of cancellation must be provided in writing, and all transaction fees from our payment gateway will be deducted from your refund.

Please refer to the following for a breakdown of applicable cancellation fees:

If you cancel 120 days or more before your Start Date, you will be refunded the full amount paid up to that date, less any transaction fees imposed by our payment gateway, and excluding the £500 per person booking fee ("Deposit") which is non-refundable.

If you cancel between 90 - 120 days before your Start Date, you will be refunded 50% of any sums paid, less any transaction fees imposed by our payment gateway, and excluding the £500 per person booking fee ("Deposit") which is non-refundable.

Cancellations 90 days or less before the Start Date of your Escape are non-refundable and will result in a forfeit of any and all sums paid.

Due to our need to commit to accommodation and other arrangements in advance, exceptions to our policy cannot be made for any reason.

Cancellations Policy: Trip Cancellations made by Us
If Salt Escapes has to cancel or change the Start Date of any Escape, for any reason whatsoever, you’re entitled to transfer the sums paid to another Salt Escapes trip (either scheduled or at some future time within the next two (2) years) to be used as credit, or you can request a refund of payments made by You to Us.
I booked solo but now I want to bring someone - can I change my booking?
No problem. Get in touch with us and we can confirm availability & amend your booking so you can bring your friend/partner along.
I have an injury. Can I still come?
On every Escape, we have some guests with niggles or injuries, so we're used to accommodating for this. Depending on your injury, we’ll be able to provide modifications so that you can get the most out of the workouts. Remember, if you need to sit a couple out, that’s OK!
Are there any discounts?
There is a 5% discount on the total room price if you choose to pay in full at the time of booking.Head to the room page for your chosen Escape and select the dates, occupancy and ‘pay in full’ from the drop-down menu. The discounted price will then be displayed and automatically applied to your booking.
Can you help me organise any other activities?
Yes.
We're here to help you get the most out of your holiday, so if there are other activities you want to do, or places you want to visit throughout the week - it would be our pleasure to help organise these for you.
What room types are available?
The majority of our Escape villas have options for both private rooms (Deluxe Double, Master Double etc), and shared rooms (Deluxe Twin etc).

If you’re travelling solo, a twin share room will be the most affordable option. For all shared rooms, you'll share with another guest or guests of the same sex.

If you’re booking a private room with a double bed, you can choose to take this all to yourself (single occupancy) or share it with your partner or friend (double occupancy).
How often do you add new Escapes?
We’re always working on new Escapes and we launch new weeks throughout the year. The first place to hear about new Escapes is via our newsletter, so make sure you’re subscribed!
How do I book?
Booking is super easy.

1. Choose your destination (we call them "Escapes")
2. Choose the room you want on that Escape
3. Choose which week/dates you want (there will likely be multiple weeks for you to choose from)
4. Choose how you'd like to pay to secure the booking.

4a. You can pay the full balance upfront (if you pay the full balance upfront we'll give you a 5% discount)

4b. You can pay a £500 deposit (per person in your booking) to secure your booking and the room
What are the itineraries like?
The itinerary changes from Escape to Escape, as we curate all our trips to incorporate the best bits that each destination has to offer.

You can find a detailed itinerary on your chosen destination’s page, but here’s a quick overview.
Each week will have plenty of workouts (usually 2 workouts on offer per day, plus a yoga/mobility session), 2-3 “adventure” activities (think: Boat Day, coastal hike, surfing, waterfalls etc), 1 dinner out at a local restaurant (depending on destination), and loads of chill time in between all that!
Can you help me organise flights/transfers to and from the Escape?
We can provide some general advice on routes, booking platforms etc should you need help figuring out how to get to a destination, but cannot book anything for you or on your behalf.
