So your first ever Salt Escapes is fast approaching but you might be asking yourself, what on earth do I pack for a fitness retreat? We’ve got your packing dilemmas sorted with our easy list on what and what not to pack for a Salt Escapes week in paradise!
Let’s start with the must-haves
Passport
Travel Insurance
Any necessary visas (destination dependent)
Driving license (if you’re hiring a car for your transfer to our Salt Escapes villa)
Good vibes!
Clothing
Workout clothes - lots of them! In most of our villas, there is a laundry option (some are free to use, some incur a laundry charge) but either way, you’re probably still gonna need more activewear than you think you will. Remember, it’ll be hot, so cool, light workout gear is a good idea.
Clothes you’ll feel comfortable in for recovery sessions (yoga/Pilates).
Swimwear for the pool and Boat Day
Clothes for group dinners at the villa each night - very casual, you don’t need to get dressed up, unless you want to
On most of our Escape weeks, we head out for dinner one evening. Whilst this is always a pretty casual spot, you might want your best outfit for this! Think summer dresses, fun shirts, shorts, sandals.
Sunnies & Hat
Jumper - just in case! Sometimes our Salt Escape destinations can be cooler in the evenings.
Shoes
Workout shoes - we mostly do our Salt escapes workouts on stone ground, grass and the sand (location dependent), so comfortable, supportive workout shoes are recommended
Running/walking shoes - on some of our Escape weeks, we head out for a run or a morning coastal hike, so shoes you're comfortable running in are a good idea
Flip flops/sandals
For the workouts
Re-usable water bottle
Sweat towel
Electrolytes - if you like these in your usual routine, they come in super handy on Salt Escapes as you’ll be losing a lot of salt through sweat!
Protein powder - we’ll be getting lots of protein in our meals from chef BUT if you usually enjoy these in your regular routine, don’t forget to bring some with you
Other Stuff
Chargers and adaptors
Books for chill time
High SPF sunscreen - we definitely recommend bringing some in your packing or at least buying at the airport; sometimes our Salt Escape villas are far from any shops!
Toiletries - some of our Salt Escapes villas provide small shampoos/conditioners/body-wash but don’t necessarily rely on this to get you through the week
Anti-nausea tablets if you get sea-sick - always good to have as a back up for Salt Escapes Boat Day!
Eye mask - useful if you’re sharing a room, just in case your roomie has different sleep/wake times to you (never usually the case because we tire you all out with all the workouts)
What Not to Pack
Too many fancy clothes - unless you just love dressing up every night, our dinners are always casual affairs
Towels - our Salt Escape villas usually provide these including pool/beach towels (we’ll let you know before your trip if this is not the case)
Camera! We will capture all your Insta-worthy holiday content for the week - but if you do want to bring a polaroid or a GoPro to join in on capturing the mems, that would be epic!
